Swimmeet and springbreak

Thursday. First swimmeet. I was so nervous! I didn’t know if I was going to swim, so that made me even more nervous! And guess what, I did get to swim! Event 9 (9th event of the meet), heat 1 (first part of the event), lane 2, 3rd person. It was the 160 relay. That means there are 4 girls (in this case). The first one jumps off of the block and swims 40 yards freestyle (borstcrawl for the Dutch people). When she touches the wall, the next girl jumps in. I was the third girl and I felt like it went really.. bad. The girl before me was on the same line with the girl from North West. Then I jumped in and I was telling myself to not go too fast. It is better to sprint the last 20. Then I did flipturn, but I forgot to breath out through my nose. That means I got water in my nose and I got an instant headache from it. Then I sprinted back. While I was above the water to breath I looked around to see where the other girls were. I couldn’t find anybody! Then I had to take my last breath before I finished but it was only water. So I didn’t have any air anymore but I needed to keep swimming, because the next girl needed to go in. After you finish you have to climb up to the wall and the block to get out. But my arms were so tired (I don’t like freestyle at all) that I felt like I would just fall back into the water. I swam through the other lane (the swimmer was on the other side anyway) and climbed out. When I looked back to see where we were, we just finished. LAST! I felt really bad.

Then it was time for springbreak! We went for dinner and I had a lot of fun with the girls (and Tyler). Friday we didn’t have practice, so I could go to the Leadership District meeting. Last time we filmed a little movie against bullying and we watched it. It gave me goosebumps! It is really good! When we have permission, we are going to the Board of Education on April 11th to present it and us. It will also be broadcasted on the schoolchannel and then I can also put it on here.
After the meeting we (JAMP, Jazmin, Anthony, Marysol, me, haha! And Marysols nephew and Jazmin’s sister came with us) went to try on promdresses and order a tux. We walked through the mall and ate lunch with South Leadership. I had a lot of fun again, it was a good start for springbreak.

What my plans are? I want to read Hamlet for english, so it will be easier for me to do. I am going to New York in the weekend after Spring Break and I will miss a class of English. I want to finish my homework before and hopefully this will make it easier. I am also going to finish the Amendment project for Government and I want to start with my USA-scrapbook. I will have practice from 10.30 to 12.30 every day and maybe I can go to the Y to do weights and some other things. (Hottub? Sauna? Yes please!) I am sure it is going to be a good break!

ps. I was skyping with my dad and his girlfriend. She told me that at Ellis Island (where the Statue of libery stands) there is a wall with names on it. Names of people who went to America through the Island. Apparently, some of my family went there too! I am going to see if I can find my name on there!
