I’m back!

Another 5 days without a post, that’s new for me! But, I am back! Not too much, because in the few days I have left, I need to do a lot with my friends (and suitcase..). But, I will have time and energy to blog again, haha! So, what else did I do with my family?

Wednesday we went to Kansas City, Missouri! We went to the Plaza, where the buildings make me think of Spain or Italy (even though I have never been there), with their mozaic edges. There are also a lot of fountains! We walked around and spend an hour or two in the Pandora store. My parents bought me a bracelet with a sunflower bead, for Kansas! I bought my sister the same bead, so I am always with her. (All her beads have a meaning, I wasn’t on it yet.) We also took some pictures with the big fountain and the fake Spanish steps.

Thursday was graduation day! In the morning I went to rehearsal and after that I went to lunch with Jazmin, Anthony, Marysol, Ish, Jeff and Jacob. We went to IHOP and I had a delicious lunch, haha! After that I went home and my sister had just woken up, haha. That day had to be a relaxed day because everyone was really tired. We took my graduationstuff to the hotel where we hung around a bit. Then I went to the Keeper with my parents to make some Cap&Gown pictures. After that I think we just got ready to go to Subway and the Arena. I had to be there at 6.15, but when we drove by at 5.45, a lot of seniors were already there! So we just went inside too. Then we had graduation. I had to wait a loooong time before we went into the arena. During the graduation we had speeches, a song and I even saw some tears. We walked over the stage, shook hands, hugged our principal, took some pictures and had our diploma’s (or Attendence certificate for me) handed to us. I loved it, it was so much more special than my graduation in the Netherlands. After graduation we went outside and met up with our families and friends. Me and my families (hihi) went to Outback, the steak house where we ate 2 days earlier. After that I changed clothes and went to project grad. That is a whole night in school with your friends. I swam, got an airbrush tattoo and talked a lot with my friends (and new friends!). I got home at 5am.

Friday was another quiet day! I barely remember what we did, haha! Only that we went to eat at Old Chicago (great pizza!) and we saw Source Code at the theater.

Saturday was my hostmom’s graduation. We drove to Hillsboro. I got burned a little bit and in the car I slept. We also packed my parents and sisters suitcases with my clothes. In the evening we all ate here with my Dutch family and American family. We had great steak and chicken (compliements for the chef). I said goodbye to my parents, who would leave sunday morning.

Sunday was another graduation, up in Lawrence! Time for the KU students to graduate. I went with my hostmom, uncle and aunt to my hostcousins graduation. It was way more casual than the other graduations I went to. Most of the students didn’t even have their gowns closed. They ran and hopped. One of them even did the worm for a few meters. They also didn’t walk the stage individually (luckily, that would’ve taken a 10000 hours!), but it was still a really cool graduation. In the evening I went to the swimteam party! We had salads, desserts and pizza and awards would be given out. People got their letters (for the cool American letterman jackets, haha) and people who didn’t letter got a participation award (me!). There were also a few other awards and I won one too! I won the most improved award, which means a lot to me, because I don’t feel like I improved that much..

Today I am just doing laundry, reading the 130 blogs I didn’t read yet, blog and I tried to pack a part of my suitcase. It is half filled now, and there’s not one piece of clothing in it..

Later I will post some pictures. This week I am planning to hang out a lot (wednesday I am going to the lake if the weather is good!) and meet up with my friends. Next week I leave, but I am trying not to think of that yet!

Gek is dat he?
